Sandra L. (McWilliams) Russell, 70, a former long-time Janesville resident passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010, surrounded by her family, at Beloit Health and Rehab. Center where she had resided for the past 4 years. Sandra was born May 18, 1940 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of George and Mary (Fortney) Root. She married David McWilliams and later married Francis Russell. She was formerly employed by the Janesville Data Center and later worked many years at K-Mart until retiring. Sandra was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and knitting.

Surviving are 5 children, Diana (Martin) Huckstep, Michael (Sandra) McWilliams, Joni (Jack) Boughton, Patti (Tim) Soyck, Daniel (Jackie) McWilliams, 12 grandchildren, Michael (Natalie), Jessica, Chris, Mathew, Joey (Shandi), Joshua, Molly, Ben, Anna, David, Savanna, Conner, 4 great-grandchildren, Adrien, Andy, Jayden, Canon, 1 brother, Chester (Jan) Goralski, 1 sister, Mary (Forrest) Sullivan, an aunt, Marcella Root, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Georgene and a grandson, Luke.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at First Christian Church, 1909 Highland Ave. Janesville. Pastor Dee Ann Woods will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church. Burial will be in the Emerald Grove Cemetery. Assisting the family is Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
